Birthday Parties

Even though Thao kept saying that she didn't want to have a birthday party, we ended up having three!!











I tried to buy one rose for every year of Thao's age, but even though I bought all

the roses that the store had, there wasn't enough! "Quá già!"













Thao also got flowers from the director of another Japanese school.

He was pretty smart, because he also asked to kiss her!

Party #1 was with some friends from her work. We wanted to go to a Japanese

restaurant but since Thao finished work very late, we went to Bo Nuong behind

her office. It was very good though!











For Thao's birthday cake, I went to the big cake store Paris Gateaux near my work. They have

so many kinds of cake there, and I eventually chose this caramel cake with nuts

and rum. Party #2 was at a cafe near Thao's work, and we all enjoyed the yummy cake!











Party #3 was at home! Chicken, beef, tofu, shrimp, clams, vegetables ... and lots of beer!











While we were having dinner, Thao went to the kitchen to find something and she saw a very

beautiful sunset from the window! Thao loves this pic so much, like the sunset was Hanoi's

gift to her! It seems like a postcard.











Every girl's dream... After a long day, a nice relaxing bath filled with fresh rose petals...

For many days I was always complaining that my hair was too long... So Thao offered to

cut it for me. Ooops, too short!!



She did a good job, but I didn't know I had such a big bald spot without hair... I guess

too much stress at work!













Awwwww... I'm sure everyone is sick of the cute couple pictures by now, but we still love them!

Ma cu kieu nay thi som muon gi ta cung phai mua cai xe bon banh mat thoi. Nhung 4 banh la chi de danh cho luc mua gio, chu lu lut nhu Hanoi may hom nay thi 4 banh hay 2 banh cung xep xo het. Ma chac, bang lai het han lau qua roi. Tai luc no het han la luc ta o ben JP, luoi qua khong di doi bang gio nghe noi bat buoc phai di thi lai de lay bang moi thi phai.



Ohoho,.. May qua Yuraku thu 7 nao cung co fresh sashimi nhap khau tu Japan ve... Oi, vua moi den day hom roi thoi ma da thay nhu lau lam roi. Mieng sashimi vua ha canh xuong dau luoi ma chao oi la ngon den rung roi ca dua. Nho Jp qua,huhu... Mr Kyle thi me sashimi cung chang kem gi ta nha... Ngai cung chien me mai va cuoi cung thi cung lai phan cai cau muon thua: "You are half fish". Hehehe..lai bat dau roi...



Tren duong ve, troi van hon ho mua. Ay vay ma cu bang duoc phai tim mua cai banh cake de celebrate, lan nao cung doi mua, ma celebrate lan truoc mua cai banh ro to oanh roi mam mai co het dau... Chac, thoi thi danh chieu Ngai vay, thi mua nhe.



Ve truoc nha, mui thom cua may co hang hat de nuong voi ngo nuong bay len ngat ca mui. Khong danh duoc lai phai dung xe ghe vao. Thu qua, chuan bi do choi nhieu the cho nen ve nha vua xem phim vua mam co thay buon ngu dau...

Chan, lai cai chuyen Ngai bi om. Sao Ngai om lau the co chu. Cung chi tai om chua dut ma Ngai cu thich doi ra ngoai moi khi troi mua. Hom roi nho chi maid mua mot bo la xong ro la to, ve nau len roi "dieu" Ngai ngoi vao trong trum khan kin mit den 30 phut roi ma gio Ngai van cu sit soat cai mui. Ro chan. ...........Oi ma gio den luc roi, "Cang da bung thi chung da mat",hihii... May cai film toi nay cung chang co gi hay ho... Ok time 4 bed. Ma ngai oi Ngai di ngu di cho ta nho. Ngai dung co bat aircon len dau day nha, Ngai co nong qua thi cu bat quat nhung phai nam ra phia giuong ben nay nay, dung co nam truoc quat roi cai mui ay cha bao gio het sit soat dau thua Ngai. Ngai ma lai om lai nua thi ta se.... Biet khong, ta rat rat ghet cai luc ngai bi om day....

Swimming in Hanoi

After a night of heavy rain, this was the scene outside my apartment building!



For some reason I thought I could still get to work, since it is only about 5 minutes away...

So I got in a taxi and off we went... Ooops, so many streets are flooded... We turned around

and tried a different route... Uh oh! The water was getting deeper and deeper... so deep that it

came right into the car!! The taxi driver tried to drive on the sidewalk but it was no use, the

car was flooded and we were stuck!!



After waiting for about 2 hours to be rescued, I gave up and walked back in water that was

up to my waist! Everyone was laughing and stopping to talk to me, I guess they don't see too

many foreigners walking through the water











The black car in this picture was abandoned... I hope it is water-proof!!

As the water level gets higher and higher, it starts to go up onto the sidewalk and into the

buildings















I guess the motorbike repair shop was happy! Plenty of customers today with motorbikes that

wouldn't start...



Still raining so hard now... where will all the water go??
